ACTRIS and the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) signed an MOU to strengthen collaboration in cell therapy development and GMP manufacturing, supporting the translation of innovative therapies to patients.

We are pleased to commemorate the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Advanced Cell Therapy and Research Institute, Singapore (ACTRIS) and the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (opens in new tab) last week, marking an important step towards strengthening Singapore’s cell therapy ecosystem.

The MOU was signed by A/Prof Aloysius Ho (opens in new tab), Executive Director, ACTRIS, and Adj A/Prof Cheng Ean Chee (opens in new tab), Executive Director, NCIS, and witnessed by Dr Weiyang Cheong (opens in new tab), Chairperson, Board Oversight Committee, ACTRIS, and Prof Wee Joo Chng (opens in new tab), Group Chief Scientist, NUHS.

We were honoured to have leaders and colleagues from both organisations join us to witness this meaningful collaboration.

This partnership brings together the complementary capabilities of ACTRIS and NCIS across cell therapy process development, validation, quality testing, cold chain solutions and GMP manufacturing, supporting a more seamless pathway from process development through to clinical translation.

This MOU reflects a shared commitment to advancing cell therapy capabilities in Singapore, fostering innovation and strengthening the infrastructure needed to translate promising therapies into meaningful access for patients and improving outcomes.

ACTRIS looks forward to working closely with NCIS to build on Singapore’s capabilities in cell therapy and contribute towards a stronger, more integrated ecosystem that can support the development and delivery of innovative cell therapies to our patients and beyond.
