At ISCT Asia 2026, ACTRIS brought together researchers, clinicians and industry professionals through hands-on training, expert-led sessions and educational programmes focused on advancing cell and gene therapies.

ISCT Asia 2026 brought together the cell and gene therapy community in Singapore for a week of learning, collaboration and knowledge exchange. For ACTRIS, it was also a meaningful opportunity to engage with partners, peers and stakeholders across the region.

From delivering specialised GMP training to curating conference sessions and workforce development programmes, the week reflected our shared commitment to building capabilities, sharing expertise and strengthening the broader CGT community of Singapore and beyond.

We began the week by hosting the ISCT-ACTRIS 2-Day GMP Laboratory Bootcamp: Hands-on Training in Cell Therapy Biomanufacturing at our facility. Participants from around the region received expert-guided laboratory training for end-to-end manufacturing of CAR-T cells. It was especially rewarding to see the high level of engagement and enthusiasm throughout the bootcamp.

At the conference, A/Prof Aloysius Ho (opens in new tab), Adj A/Prof Eng Soo Yap (opens in new tab), and Dr Sudipto Bari, PhD (opens in new tab) chaired sessions focusing on CGT manufacturing scale-up, emerging in vivo therapeutic approaches for blood disorders, and strategies to improve cost efficiency and broaden patient access in CGT. These conversations sit at the heart of advancing the field.

The week concluded with the 1-day training programme "Cell Therapy Manufacturing: Advancing Practices in Asia". As part of the planning faculty, Dr Sudipto Bari, PhD (opens in new tab) delivered a lecture on the journey from early-stage cell therapy product development to GMP manufacturing for learners from academia, hospital and industry.
